Dear Almar Community,

Starting a project like Almar Surf & Skate is not always easy – and keeping it going can be even more difficult. Almar is still in its early stages, and we often face challenges we couldn’t have anticipated. When we created the vision for Almar, we dreamed of a safe and inclusive environment where children could express themselves through sports, especially surfing and skating. But the road to this vision hasn’t always been straightforward.

Financially, we are still in a very unstable phase. Every day is a struggle to gather enough funds to keep our programs running and launch new initiatives. We are a small team, but our dedication and passion for what we do are limitless.

Almar is more than just a place where kids learn to surf or skate. It’s a safe haven for young people who often have little and no real perspective for their future. Through these sports, we not only offer them a recreational activity but also an opportunity to discover their talents, build self-confidence, and learn to tackle challenges – skills that strengthen them not just on the water but in life.

But our vision goes beyond what we have achieved so far. We want to create opportunities to offer free lifeguard and first aid courses to local youth, equipping them with not only water safety skills but also a sense of responsibility for others. Water sports have such a profound impact on us and our community, and we want to empower the locals here with the skills to protect themselves and others. Another goal is to offer swimming lessons, so that children who grow up near the ocean can learn the basic skills needed for their safety in the water.

There is so much more we want to do, but these plans require time, and, most importantly, support. My challenges are many. There are days when I wonder if we’re doing enough to create the change we’re hoping for. But then I remind myself that change doesn’t happen overnight. Every wave a child rides, every minute spent on a skateboard, brings them one step closer to a better future.

So, why are donations so important to us?

Quite simply: they are the reason we can keep going. They allow us to provide the necessary equipment, pay for instructors, and reach more children who could benefit from this project. Without this support, we couldn’t expand our programs or continue to pursue our vision of a future where every child has the chance to thrive.

With your help, we can make these dreams a reality. Your donation not only helps sustain our ongoing programs, but also enables us to start new, important initiatives for the future. Your contribution gives the children we work with more hope, better prospects, and a future they might not have thought possible.

There are many ways you can support us – whether through a financial donation, donating used surfboards or skateboards, or simply spreading the word to help us reach even more people who believe in our vision.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and belief in what we do. You are part of this journey, and together, we can accomplish so much more.

With gratitude and hope,

Esteban & Amrita
