​We, Amrita and Esteban, are starting our own Civil Association. It's a Surf & Skate Organization, but it's different from the ones you typically find around here. We want that our profits goes towards helping local children are dedicated to providing fun and professional lessons for all levels, ages, genders, ethnicities, and essentially anyone who is marginalized. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider, we offer personalized instruction in Spanish, English, or German to ensure effective communication and an immersive learning experience.​​
At Almar Surf & Skate, we believe that true change starts with personal experiences and a deep connection to others. Our journey is shaped by resilience, passion, and the desire to create opportunities for those who need them most.

Almar aspires to be not only a popular destination for tourists but also to have a sustainable social impact on the community of Nayarit, Mexico. By focusing on education and leisure for children and families in need, we aim to make a positive contribution to local development. Investing our income in materials and the construction of the project reflects our long-term commitment to social responsibility and education. Our Mission
We are offering high-quality surf and skate lessons (and other activities) for tourists, promoting fun and safety.
Our mission is to provide unique experiences for tourists while actively engaging in enhancing the quality of life for the local community in Nayarit with Almar. Our mission includes:

Allocating our earnings to educational and recreational programs for low-income children and families in the region.

In essence, our mission revolves around balancing tourist appeal with a genuine commitment to improving the lives of the local community through education and recreational activities.
We are Amrita and Esteban—two people from different worlds, united by a shared vision.
​
Amrita, originally from northern Germany, was raised with a deep appreciation for nature and a strong sense of responsibility. Growing up, she saw firsthand what it meant to fight for a better future. Inspired by her family—activists, nonprofit leaders, and advocates for equality—she pursued a career in nursing, only to discover the harsh realities of a system driven by profit rather than care. Determined to make a difference, she transitioned into International Emergency and Disaster Relief, gaining invaluable experience in how meaningful change happens.

Esteban grew up in Mazatlán, where his life revolved around sports—Taekwondo, bodyboarding, skateboarding, and surfing. After years of working in the tourism industry and repairing surfboards, he realized that life had to be about more than just financial stability. His experience as a surf instructor at Wildmex, Marea Surf School and Surfeando Sonrisas opened his eyes to the power of surfing, not just as a sport, but as a tool for inclusion, confidence, and community—especially for children. What makes Esteban’s story so special? He never gave up, even when he thought he wasn’t „enough.“ Through hard work, passion, and a strong community behind him, he made his dreams come true: He is now officially a certified lifeguard and Director of Almar! —and we believe others can do the same!

Together, we founded Almar Surf & Skate with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide free surf and skate lessons to children from low-income backgrounds, giving them not just a sport, but a sense of purpose, discipline, and belonging.
We are still at the beginning, but every board we shape, every lesson we give, and every child we reach brings us closer to our goal. Your support—whether through donations, lessons, or simply spreading our message—helps us build a future where the ocean and the streets are playgrounds for everyone, no matter their background.

How You Can Support
As a non-profit organization, we rely on donations, partnerships, and paid surf and skate lessons for tourists to fund our programs. Every contribution allows us to offer more children the chance to discover the joy and freedom of surfing and skateboarding.

Your support helps us provide skateboards, protective gear, and other essential equipment for our local skate and surf lessons – whether through donations or by contributing materials and gear directly.​

EXCELENTE clases de surf con Amrita y Esteban, mi hijo las disfruto bastante, aprendió desde tierra como pararse y los comandos qué le darian para cuando agarra la ola se parara, el tenia 8 años en ese entonces y todo fue excelente, calidad/precio estuvo también excelente, la verdad es que hemos ido a la zona de la playa la lancha y siempre nos hemos acordado de las clases, queremos regresar a que tome otras sesiones próximamente, recomiendo al 100% Almar surf.
